The music live and movie event were held at Bhutan Museum. As I was wondering why a red bicycle was setting in the room, a person who invented this bicycle showed us how to use it. He is Mr. Nagayama from Nagoya.
First, set the shape of the frame of the bicycle into U-shaped.
Second, take out a small foldable chair from a bag, open it and put it on the bicycle. Finally, a bicycle turns into a wheelchair.
Even a woman can push the wheelchair easily and it can go over step height easily by stepping on the pedal which is attached to the back part of the wheelchair. Moreover, when the backrest is pushed back, it becomes a stretcher.
According to Mr. Nagayama, after the Great East Japan Earthquake, only the vehicle that people were able to use was bicycles so he invented this wheelchair. He introduced me several points of this wheelchair which were helpful at that time: carrying a person who couldn’t ride bicycles to wherever they wanted to go and carrying a heavy bottle of water from a water distribution point. This wheelchair definitely has high mobility and it must be very useful.
There was an annual concert at a neighbor’s community center the other day.
The performer of this year was a musical unit “Kobato Sango” which is a married couple.
The husband Kobayashi is a teacher of erhu and plays the guitar too.
And his wife with the stage name Sango from Osaka, who is pretty and soothing,
sings and plays Okinawan instrument sanshin.
Their repertoire is “The song for Fukui City”, “Asadoya Yunta”, “Flowers”, ”Sukiyaki” etc.
Especially, “Turkish March” by erhu which Kobayashi plays is definitely worth a watch.
Also, Okinawan folk songs by Sango with her clear voice are so charming.
They have released a CD.
You can not only enjoy their performance but also their witty dialogue is amusing.
They are laid-back persons and it makes you feel warm inside. (H.S)

*“Gheranda Samhita (Sanskrit gheraṇḍasaṁhitā घेरंडसंहिता ) meaning “Gheranda's collection” is one of the three classic texts of hatha yoga (the other two being the Hatha Yoga Pradipika and the Shiva Samhita). It is a late 17th-century text and is considered to be the most encyclopedic of the three classic texts on hatha yoga.
Gheranda Samhita is a manual of yoga taught by Gheranda to Chanda Kapali. Unlike other hatha yoga texts, the Gheranda Samhita speaks of a sevenfold yoga:
1. Shatkarma for purification
2. Asana for strengthening
3. Mudra for steadying
4. Pratyahara for calming
5. Pranayama for lightness
6. Dhyana for perception
7. Samādhi for isolation”

This local sake was recommended to try by a sake shop which I dropped in the other day.
“BORN”, the series of sake, which almost everyone knows here in Fukui.
I had an image of daiginjo as a watery taste but I heard that this one was thick,
so I thought it sounded good and bought it.
The “BORN” sake series are aged in a regulated minus ten degrees environment and
the sake conjures a rich aroma and fresh full-bodied flavor as well as the distinctive taste of pure rice daiginjo fresh unprocessed sake. This is the most popular sake in the BORN series. Whether served chilled, on the rocks, or warmed, this champion sake boasts outstanding flavor in all the respective drinking styles.
Also, here on our video site GEN, we have released the video below about when we visited the brewery of the “BORN”. You can see its backstage of sake brewing which you rarely have
an opportunity like this. （H.S)
