When the people of Fukui think of winter, "Mizuyokan" comes to their mind first. Generally, it is a popular dessert in summer but somehow in Fukui, it is a specialty of winter and New Year.
The ingredients are bean paste, white sugar, brown sugar and agar. Today, Eamon from America experienced making Mizuyokan. It is a simple dessert but a little hard to measure the ingredients accurately so we used "Making Mizuyokan Kit" by Karyo Co., Ltd. in Fukui City. The appearance and the taste were genuine!
